Welcome! I’m Dr. Amy…a Converse-wearing dramatic introvert with a tell-it-like-it-is approach to helping people live life with more resilience, less frustration, and a whole lot of grace.

Professionally, I’m a cognitive psychologist at LearningRx in Colorado Springs, CO where I specialize in neuroplasticity research, cognitive training, and cognition assessment for neurodevelopmental disorders, ADHD, brain injury, learning disabilities, and age-related cognitive decline. My brain training research has been published in peer-reviewed medical and psychology journals and presented at conferences around the country.

I’ve been a child development specialist, education administrator, and teacher of teachers with a PhD in psychology and a master’s degree in early childhood education. I struggled as a neurodiverse learner and have been working with neurodiverse learners for 30ish years…so I get it. I’m an ADHD mom and a mom with ADHD…so I get it. As a Type 3 Enneagram classic overachiever, I’m also the host of the Brainy Moms podcast, a TEDx Speaker, board-certified Christian counselor, trauma specialist, life coach, and writer. And I’m finishing a second doctorate…because learning is my hobby!

I’m married to the amazing Jeff Moore, a retired Air Force fighter pilot now working as a surgical nurse. (He’s a classic overachiever, too!) We have three incredible adult sons (ages 19, 23, and 25) and a very mischievous but super soft Siberian cat. Originally from South Carolina, I’ve called Colorado home since 2006. (Why? The military moved us here and we decided to stay!)

I’ve got some cool new stuff coming out this year — a book on emotion regulation, an online course with coaching, and an app! Check back for updates…I can’t wait to share them with you!
